Former Captain of the England team - John Terry is very much present in the sports news headlines thanks to his absence from the field for nearly a month. The Premier League club Chelsea captain and centre back player has been missing from action for a while now ever since his knee injury last November during a match against Liverpool. Though he didn’t sustain extensive damage from the collision with Luis Suarez, he did however suffer a ligament tear which caused him a considerable amount of pain.

Initially the recuperation period was slated to be a couple of months, but thanks to timely treatment, the recovery time has been cut short to a few weeks, But nevertheless a lot has gone down with the Chelsea club since then and it is quite evident the Blues are sorely missing their defender.

When you take the whole of John Terry profile into consideration, you can see that he has a lot of impressive points to deliberate. He was adjudged the UEFA Club Defender of the Year three times and the PFA Players' Player of the Year at least once. He has played in over 500 matches for Chelsea is the highest scoring defender ...
... of the club. But the really interesting part is that he is well known not just for the plaudits that he has accumulated in the football field, but even more for his controversial antics. Following are a parade of incidents stemming from his tactlessness and silly behavior:

In 2001, just immediately after the 9/11 attacks, a few of Chelsea players including Terry were seen mocking the American Tourists in a drunken haze. He was fined two weeks wages for his atrocious conduct. John Terry is well known for his partying ways. So a midnight brawl with the nightclub usher doesn’t seem too surprising. He paid heavily for it when he had to sit out the 2002 World Cup.

The following year, Terry was caught on video camera, urinating into a beer glass. He was in his best behavior for a while till he was red carded and fined for inappropriate conduct with Ledley King of Tottenham Hotspurs. In 2008, his mother and mother-in-law were suspected of shop lifting while his father was accused of peddling drugs at a pub. Maybe delinquency runs deep in the family.

In 2010, the tabloid went abuzz with the news that Terry was having an affair with Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel. Following the scandal, Terry was relegated from the Captain position.
