Kings XI Punjab is in a euphoric mode past their victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders. They needed that redemption badly after their debacle on 14th April 2013, where they suffered a crushing blow in the hands of the Rajasthan Royals. And the Kings XI had none other than Manpreet Grewal, affectionately nicknamed as ‘Gony’, to thank for. He belted out an eighteen ball forty two that did half the trick.

By the time he did his work with the ball, he was declared an apt candidate for the position of ‘man of the match, which he won later on that day. Below are some facts that made up for interesting bits related to Kings XI Punjab news.

• They came in the last position during the 2010 season.

• The team plays its home matches at the P C A Stadium, Mohali.

• But they also play some of their home matches at Dharamsala since the third edition of the Indian Premier League.

• In 2011, immediately after the controversial issues surrounding the B C C I and Lalit Modi, the I P L terminated the franchise contracts of Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. After the required financial clauses were taken care of, the team was allowed to continue as a part of the Ipl.

• The ambassador of the Kinds XI Punjab is none other than the Punjabi pop sensation Daler Mehendi.

• The team is currently captained by former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist.

• The team was coached by Tom Moody from 2008-2010; Michael Bevan in 2011, Adam Gilchrist in 2012 and currently Darren Lehmann.

India waits with bated breath for more IPL updates to see if their favorite team will have a chance to make it.
