A consignment shop that handles games, DVDs, CDs, etc., will be happy to let you sell your video games there. In return for doing the sales work, they’re going to take a chunk of the profits. And you’re still in the same pricing boat you’d be in if you sell on your own. A consignment shop likely knows no more about video game market trends, saturation and title popularity than you do.

Selling this way, you’ll certainly be getting less than market value for some of your games and having others that you priced too high sit on the shelves.

On the other hand, a video game reseller buys your products on the spot – there’s no waiting for consignment shop customers or people in cyberspace to find your offerings. Also, a dealer knows the market inside and out and knows what each of your games is worth. You don’t have to guess at the value of your video games, and you’ll get paid a fair market price.

In summary, the expertise dealers have make selling video games directly to them, as opposed to selling on your own or through a consignment deal, attractive for many people. Dealers are a one-stop sale where you know you’ll get a good price for all your products.
