A township which is developing to be a beautiful 'cocoon' for urban professionals who wish to reside in an utopia which is surrounded by green gardens, has well-lit roads, abundant parking spaces and several cudle-sacs to ensure that cars do not pass-by your house in every few minutes. Such a township, spread over nearly 180 acres of prime freehold land is located in Sector 47 of Gurgaon. Its creators have chosen to call it 'Malibu Towne.' Currently, this residential project has provided happy homes to nearly 300 families.

It was launched far back in 1994 and since then, the number of residential and commercial spaces located here have increased to manifold. For instance, within this township there is a shopping arcade with 80 shops, four restaurants and five floors of office spaces. The shopping arcade was launched in 2004 and has a number of amenities including pharmacies, video parlours, gifts and flower shops, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. Many shop owners feel that ' good luck' has been with them ever since they got an address, part of which reads: 'Malibu Towne, Sector 47, Gurgaon, Haryana – 122001.' ...

In 1997, the developer had launched nearly 444 independent builder floors. These were completely sold out and that too in a 'record' time. The built up area of two and three bedroom residences ranged from 1105 square feet to 1357 square feet. These are only available for sale at resale prices and for rental purposes.

Spread over 12 acres, this is a group housing project with five residential towers. It can be conceived as a completely separate condominium complex within the already gated township. Clearly, life here will be quite secure and private lives can retain their integrity. In all, there are 292 condos with two and three bedrooms which range from 1587 square feet to 2940 square feet. About 24 penthouses are also included in the site plan which range from an optimal size of 2875 square feet to spacious 4695 square feet respectively. Out of these, 56 air-conditioned condos and 4 penthouses have been proposed with best-in-the-line exclusive specifications.

Upon walking into this township, many would feel that they have walked into an American suburb, which is implacably clean, green, well designed with beautiful exterior structures. Clearly, Mr, Surdarshan Kohli, who has conceptualized and developed this township, has maintained the international standards which he did while he was associated with such projects in the United States of America and Canada.

You can never have too much of a good thing. Considering this, the developer has decided to include a number of other commercial and residential structures at Malibu Towne. 'Malibu Country Club' is one such project where the builder plans to provide a number of recreational facilities including sports' spaces to play tennis, a bar with a pool table and a large screen television, restaurants, swimming pool and a gymnasium.

Whether or not the developer plans to create another township in another city is something which can be revealed only in the future. As for now, lets just remember that in Gurgaon, such a township exists. So, remember these words which are often put together as 'Malibue Towne Gurgaon.'
