When I started fashion journalism I had no idea how to write Fashion Blogs, or what the latest trends in Mens Fashion was, be bitchy in Bollywood gossip and put my thoughts clear on movie reviews.

Fashion accessory meant just few regular sunglasses and that was it! However, what turned out to be the most difficult job out of the all was how to pen down - runway reviews. Admittedly, I was all at sea when I first got a chance to check out a fashion celebrity on a ramp and was told by my editor to write a runway reviews on the same.

What did I do?

I froze!

For many, runway review comes very naturally, but what I did observe after sometime that most of the runway reviews that were written by the so called journalists and fashion blogs, or for that matter top fashion magazines, they all took inspiration from the press releases and that baffled me. I mean come on, writing a runway reviews has to have more than that, right? Instead of just sitting in the front row and passing the irrelevant and non concrete knowledge on whats latest in mens fashion and talking about the daily dose of lifestyle mantra, ...
... why could the journalists not pay attention on whats being shown on the ramp?

Thank goodness to the changing mindset and the revolutionized trend of fashion blogs, runway review now have a much better way of being presented.

What people fail to realize is that it takes a lot of time and months for a designer to visualize and then prepare a collection that he/she thinks will best suit the markets demand. And if the runway reviews for the same is not done properly then they have all the right to feel dejected. Not to mention, they also have to keep in mind the trend forecasting that could be justified on the ramp. So why pen down a runway reviews that is just based on the information that he/she provides one with? A fashion runway reviews done with an unbiased opinion is what they look for from the top fashion blogs.

Runway reviews shall concentrate not only on the outlook of the clothes, but also the aesthetics that has gone into its making. From cuts to the patterns of the garments, silhouettes to drapes, colors used and dying techniques that makes the line appealing, they all need to be talked about.

If you really want to write down a quality runway review then here are few things to keep in mind. Check out the fashion accessories used during the show, how was the tailoring, do the fabric match the season the garment has been made for? And most importantly even if you see a fashion celebrity there, never write a Bollywood gossip in your runway review.
