How To Take Care Of Your Most Loved Clothes?

Well-designed, quality clothes expensive and must be maintained properly. We spend a good part of our income in buying clothing for self and family because what we wear has a direct effect on our reputation and personality. Now, with the added facility of Internet shopping, we often buy casual wear online along with all other types of apparels to mark our style. However, it is pretty important to know the right technique of washing, ironing and storing all different types of fabrics to maintain their sheen and make them look as good as new whenever you wear them.
Different textures require different upkeep. So here are some useful suggestions for how to take care of various popular fabrics:
The Cotton Basics
Cotton is a highly comfortable fabric, extremely popular in India. It is used in manufacturing a wide variety of apparels for men, women and kids – shirts, dresses, sarees, suits, scarves and even handkerchiefs. Although cotton is a highly durable material, it requires adequate attention as improper care can cause damage on the texture while weakening ...
... the fibers.
Always wash the dark colored cottons separately or with like colors in cold or lukewarm water. Treat all the stains before you begin washing as the pigments in coffee, oil or sweat etc. may cause a reaction by coming in contact with the detergent. Another factor is to dry the cotton inside out to minimize fading of colors.
The Silk Delights
Silk is a luxurious textile, used in creating many magnificent dresses. To let the magic last for years, you need to pay extra attention in caring for it. Although all the silk clothes carry the label of ‘Dry Clean’, you can wash them at home using a mild detergent (preferably liquid) after the first dry-cleaning session.
Testing a small unimportant spot in a silk cloth before you hand-wash the entire fabric is a great idea to make sure that the color doesn’t bleeds away. Never soak the garment as it may cause damage to its shape or consistency. When ironing the silk, turn it inside out and sprinkle some lukewarm water before pressing it with iron set at a low temperature. It is also pretty important to store the silk clothes well. Hence always place them in clean and dry breathable cloth bags to avoid accumulation of moisture.
Now that you know to maintain the lavishness of silk, don’t hesitate to buy shirts online or offline made with this beautiful material.
The Cool Denims
Denim is a tough material that requires gentle cleaning and care. Jeans and other clothes made with denims must be soaked in cold water with some table salt before washing as it helps avoid shrinking as well as minimizes fading.
Just like cotton apparels, denims should also be washed inside out and air-dried in the same form. Since hot water and machine drying can fade off and shrink your jeans fast, try to clean it with hands using a mild detergent as often as possible.
I hope this information helps you take a good care of your favourite clothing for long. Buy clothing online and from physical stores and enjoy them for longer!
