Blues Gaga Over Mata
Chelsea is quite desperate to keep their prized asset of a winger- Juan Mata in the club. They are sparing no expense, literally, to ensure that he is an integral part at Stamford Bridge in the coming years. If rumors are to be believed, Chelsea is planning to offer a five year contract to the 24 year old midfielder. When he initially joined the Blues, a year and a half back, his net worth was Euro 23.5million which was justified owing to the goals he scored for the club since then.
In his very first season with the club, he impressed his comrades and captured the hearts of the fans by helping the team win the Champions League winners’ medals and the Football Association Cup. He proved that he is a team player and worth his price tag, unlike his football mate Fernando Torres. This season saw the best of what Mata had to bring to the field so far. Mata has been termed as the driving force behind Chelsea success this season, with him scoring seven goals in all the competitions put together. His exhibits a natural élan in his playing style, that has garnered praise from football players and fans alike.
Looking ...
... back into his football history, one can see Juan Mata profile is replete with plaudits and titles he has won for his stellar performance over the years. He began his football career in his country, playing for the Spanish club Real Oviedo. In 1997, he signed with Real Madrid and three years later switched over to Real Madrid Castilla at the age of 18. He joined Valencia CF soon after and was voted the team's Best Young Player. In August 2011, he started playing for Chelsea and was adjudged the club's Player of the Year. He was instrumental in Spain’s victory at the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in Denmark which subsequently earned him the Golden Player award and an honorable mention in the Team of the Tournament.
Mata has revealed that he is looking forward to improving his tactics and bringing his A-game to the field the next anticipated season. Not that Juan Mata statistics need to be ameliorated, but even after having played in 53 matches, scored 12 goals and made 26 assists, he is keen to improve his statistics further next season. For a player of his caliber, even the Euro100,000 a week increment wouldn’t be justifiable enough.
