Operations management is a popular specialization in the field of management that refers to the task of managing activities related to creation, production, distribution and delivery of goods and services in an organization. The operations department is vital to an organization as it aims to create maximum efficiency by converting materials and labor into goods and services which entirely contribute to the profit of an organization. A person who undertakes to manage all these activities is called Operations manager. His job is to manage the people and materials required to provide the goods or services according to client’s demands. it demands professionals making tactical and strategic decisions and maintaining communications with various people to ensure efficiency in production.
One can start preparing to become an Operations manager after 10+2 or after getting a graduate degree. This course is offered at both diploma and degree level.
