Barefoot bowling does not require any special skills or training. While this might sound like child’s play the game is made challenging by the fact that the bowls are biased and thus follow a curved trajectory. There are parallel strips called rinks in the game which are made to confine the bowls in that region. The bowl might curve out during while it is moving but it should come to rest inside the rink else it is considered dead and not a part of the game.

Sounds like a lot of fun, trust me it is. It also involves the players to walk quite a long distance during the course of play. The bending and delivery of balls is a great exercise of your legs, while the swinging arc produced by your arms as you deliver the heavy bowls can get your biceps in good shape. So, the next time you are wandering what to do on a weekend head for the greens of barefoot bowls. This highly enjoyable modification of the lawn bowls is a wonderful way to bond with your family while also teaching your children a thing or two about healthy competition.
