When parents can no longer take care of their basic care needs, it is often family that comes in to help. But children of aging parents often have their own work and families to worry about so the added pressure of taking care of aging parents can be overwhelming. After a while of providing home assistance, family caregivers may consider nursing or assisted living homes to meet the personal and medical needs of their loved one.

Fortunately, there is an alternative to skilled nursing facility. Home care nursing provides caregivers that can come into the home to supplement care being offered by family members or completely replace that care so that senior parents can continue to live in a familiar environment and also maintain independent living. With millions of Americans receiving home care nursing for acute illnesses and long term health issues, it stands to reason that families are affected when having to provide added care to aging relatives.

When given a choice, most people want to continue living at home. Making the adjustment to living in a long term or skilled nursing facility can be devastatingly stressful. ...
... Of course, there are those who want to down size their large homes and move into assisted living apartments just to be free of a larger space and also have the added bonus of meal preparation and social activities. But overall, more seniors today pursue home nursing CT because they are happier living at home.

By choosing home care nursing, elder adults can receive either personal care or health/medical care services. Home nursing CT providers that offer personal care services utilize certified nurse assistants (CNA) that provide assistance with activities of daily living such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, toileting and dressing. Personal home care nursing will give medication reminders but not actually administer medications. The State of Connecticut requires these non-medical home care nursing companies be registered with the State Department of Consumer Protection.

For health/medical care services, home nursing CT agencies provide nursing personnel that can administer medicine, take blood pressure, offer physical therapy and other medical needs. These agencies are Medicare certified and must be registered and licensed through the Connecticut Department of Health. For medical home care nursing, there is usually financial assistance available through Federal programs.

Paying for home nursing CT services can be accomplished from savings, Medicare/Medicaid or through insurance policies such as long term care. In order for Federal programs such as Medicare or Medicaid to cover home care nursing, a physician must prescribe the care and the patient must be unable to stay at home without assistance in order to qualify.

Home care nursing is designed to help parents bring children with complex medical conditions home where they can be comfortably with family while also getting the quality care they need. New England Home Care offer a team effort with other home health caregivers so that the whole person receives the care that is needed to keep them comfortable and safe at home.
