Personal injury lawyers sometimes have a bad reputation, but it is usually by people who have never had to use one - if you have, chances are your opinion is somewhat different. A friend of mine was in a car wreck (she was rear ended) and had damage to her car, her face and her teeth. The insurance company of the person who hit her said that of course they would pay for everything - all she had to do was pay for it first, and then they would decide which parts of the bill their client was responsible for and reimburse her, or they could give her a flat settlement and it would be over.

There were two major things wrong with this scenario - in the first case, they have lawyers on hire, around the clock to make sure those settlements cost as little money as possible; in the second case, it costs a lot to work on teeth which have been weakened due to accidents and injuries. Even if she took the settlement, there was no way of knowing whether it would have been enough to fix her teeth.

They fixed the cut on her head, but to play by their rules; if she could not afford to have her teeth fixed she would simply ...
... be out of luck.

When it comes to hiring a Miami Personal Injury Attorney, don't be afraid to look around - try to get recommendations from friends, read any and all reviews about the lawyers office you are considering. Most of all, pay attention to how well they listen to you, and look for specific details as they tell you what they can do - try to make a list of questions to ask as well; how much trial experience they have, how many cases like yours they have handled and anything else which seems relevant. A good attorney will not mind answering questions.

So do like my friend did and pick a Miami Car Accident Attorney from the best two or three you can find; states do regulate personal attorneys as regards how large a percentage of a settlement they are entitled to, so learn your states laws. Even for states regulations on caps, though, sometimes percentages are negotiable - one word on that, though - the cheapest lawyer is not always the best, and the extra percentage points with the right firm can be well worth it.

She hired an attorney that she liked (and who had a great reputation); medical care was paid for up front, and the cash settlement they gave her for missing work and other factors was, even after the lawyers' fees, twice what they had originally offered her.

You would think that the insurance company would actually go out of its way to treat the injured person fairly, but many times it seems the opposite is true - they do not treat you fairly because statistically they know most people will settle out of desperation.

Do not do that! If you are involved in an accident that is someone else's fault, if you feel you are being treated even slightly less than fair, call a good personal injury lawyer. Quite literally, on many occasions, it is the only way to get an insurance or other type of corporation to take you seriously.

When it comes to hiring a Miami Personal Injury Attorney, don't be afraid to look around to ensure that you find the best fit for your case.
