Police Raid Home Of Joe Glimp Making Two Drug Arrests

A newspaper in Oklahoma is reporting that the home of Joe Glimp was raided by Warr Acres police department where three to four pounds of marijuana was confiscated. The Daily Oklahoman reports that police found other drug paraphernalia, as well as firearms throughout the house.

Warr Acres police Lt. Pete Markstone reported that the home located in Oklahoma County at 53333 N.W 45th was raided at 2:00 am by swat team where Joe Glimp and an accomplice was arrested. Joe D. Glimp was arrested and then charged with the following crimes and taken to jail. He was held on $28,000 bond that he posted for release.

Joe D Glimp and an accomplice were arrested at him home and later charged with several felony complaints by the Oklahoma County District Attorney. The drug charges were as follows No. CF-1992-273 (Criminal Felony)

Count One: UNLAWFUL CULTIVATION OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE
Count Two: POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE W/INTENT TO DIST
Count Three: MAINTAINING A DWELLING HOUSE WHERE A CONT DANG SUBSTANCE IS KEPT
Count Four: POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WHILE COMMITTING A FELONY

Lt. Pete Markstone stated in the report that several pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated at the residence along with a firearms belonging to the alleged perpetrator Joe Glimp. Police seized growing lights, water pumps, heaters, plants on a drying rack, a handgun, a shotgun, three rifles and marijuana found throughout the house. Glimp had been turned in by an anonymous tip that he was cultivating and distributing drugs at the residence.

Cultivation of marijuana in the state of oklahoma is a criminal felony if convicted. Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute is a felony if convicted in the state of Oklahoma.

Possession of any amount of marijuana is punishable by up to one year in jail for the first offense and 2 - 10 years in prison for subsequent offenses. Conditional discharge is available to first time offenders. Cultivation of 1,000 plants or less is punishable by 2 years - life in prison and a fine up to $20,000. Cultivation of greater than 1,000 plants is punishable by 20 years - life in prison and a fine up to $50,000.

Sale or delivery of less than 25 pounds is punishable by 2 years - life in prison and a fine of $20,000. For sale or delivery of 25 pounds or more the penalties increase to 4 years - life in prison and a fine of $25,000 - $100,000. Sale or delivery of 1,000 pounds or more is also punishable by 4 years - life in prison, but the fine increases to $100,000 - $500,000. Any sale to a minor doubles the penalties. Sale within 2,000 feet of schools, public parks or public housing doubles the available penalties and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 50% of the imposed sentence.

Joe D. Glimp later pleads guilty of drug possession in another arrest not related to the above alleged crimes in case
