You would agree that we love the concept of 'ownership'. It may be the ownership of a commodity, a vehicle or a home or may be the ownership of a human being itself. Very often, we begin our sentences with phrases like 'my mother', 'my table', 'my school' etc. It is a fact that each one of us has a never-dying desire to attain a signature stamp on just about everything that in turn influences a person to push forth an extra mile and strive for what one likes.

The theory of 'ownership' and having a 'signature stamp' is also applicable to home decoration. The elements through which a person can have a 'signature' touch on one's home include accessories (like different wall arts, interesting lamp shades etc.) and furnishings (like textured laminate countertops or may be plastic laminate countertops).

People worry a lot about colors, different patterns, shapes as well as sizes of home decor items and wonder if all of these match well with each other. But it has to be kept in mind that if one frets a lot regarding what is matching ...
... with what; one can't create the look that's unique and dynamic. The reason behind this is the fact that sometimes one just has to let a few elements stand apart to build a decor that's distinct rather than being mundane.

What you have in your home must be pleasing and must feel like your own. The entire household has to look as if it's about your taste and preference. If one likes what one owns, it definitely instills a lot of confidence within you to flaunt your home to the world. So, display what you like and do not go by conventional standards of decorations that may be boring and run-of-the-mill. Do not be afraid to create a style of home decor that's unique to you. Each and every element that is there in your home decor has a story to tell in itself. So do not hide these home decor elements inside closets and drawers, instead, just show them to the world and add that signature touch in your home!

Just pay attention to comfort and stability in your decor. Forget about the technical-part of home decoration and do not fret over balancing different items together. Instead, just let some items be the focal point of your decor. Be it accessories like wall-art or furnishing items like laminate counter tops surfaces, just ensure that you have infused uniqueness into your decor by virtue of them!
