Does your kitchen feel outdated? Do you feel that you need to re-do your kitchen? Well, if you feel so…then it is time that you do-up your kitchen and at least give the space a nice makeover without burning a hole in your pocket!
You need to replace, tweak and polish certain elements in your kitchen space to make the area look up-to-date. If you have taken up the task of refreshing your outdated looking kitchen, then you need to begin by refinishing countertop surfaces (you can opt for laminate counter tops instead, if your budget allows!), cabinet storages, flooring spaces etc. Unlike the traditional remodeling project, slight tweaking and updating your tired kitchen would not take up much time or money at all!!
First thing that one needs to do to refresh the kitchen area is paint the cabinets afresh. You need to use sandpaper and scrub the old paint off. A lot of the paint would already be chipped and dull and you have to scrub the rest too. Followed by scrubbing of the paint, you need to color the cabinets afresh. If you have a small kitchen; subtle and light ...
... colors would look the best while a larger kitchen would look better with dark colored cabinets.
Secondly, you need to replace the door and drawer handles. New and different door pulls can uplift the way your kitchen feels almost instantly. You can choose chrome hardware or you can opt for wooden knobs or may wrought-iron pulls.
Choose a nice and bright peel-stick-wallpaper. Use new wallpaper which would bring in a breath of fresh air into the kitchen décor. You need to opt for a color and pattern of the wallpaper that suits and gels well with the textured laminate surfaces and flooring of the area.
Bring in some new crockery and some new utensils. Throw away the old utensils and throw away all the utensils that are cracked, chipped or single (without a pair). Just go to the supermarket and bring home some new mugs, plates and pans.
Buy some new mats, table runners and some new accessories to lift the overall look of your kitchen. Changing curtains would also add to the aesthetic factor of the kitchen. Bring some plants too, for your kitchen. All the elements in the décor like walls, curtains, accessories, plastic laminate or other laminates in your kitchen have to look good together and should create a look of your kitchen that's beautiful and refreshing!
