Are you the kind of person who likes to have the feeling of space around? Do you hate it when there is too much furniture around? Well, at one level it sounds good that one has minimal furniture and the room/area looks spacious and open. However, it is not always possible to have a room or a space which has minimal furnishing. So, what are the ways in which you can make sure that your room looks bigger and still is a comfortable space to be in? Read on for some simple and easy steps to make sure that your room is comfortable and spacious.
Make a list of the furnishing items that are absolutely essential for your room and for your comfortable living. Usually these must-have furnishing items would be bedding, table, chair, storage spaces, high pressure laminates (to be used as tables) etc. After you have made a list of what all you need in your room, you need to move ahead to figure out if you can have two-in one furnishing items to furnish your room. Two-in-one furnishing items would obviously reduce the number of items that you eventually place in your room making it possible ...
... for you to have enough ground space in your room!
You can opt for a sofa-cum-bed for your room and use it for seating as well as sleeping purposes. Also, a better idea would be to buy a bed (if you do not like the idea of floor bedding) which has storage space inside it! If you like floor bedding, then you need not even spend a lot of money and you can just have a few mattresses on the floor and turn them into a comfortable bed for yourself. Also, you can just throw around some cushions on the floor-bed to make it look like a space that can be utilized for sitting too!
Moving on, you need to install a few countertops and a few store fixtures in the room. Store fixtures against the walls can help you store and stack your books and things while you can use plastic laminate countertop as a table for yourself. Storage space against the wall would make for a really good way to lift off the feeling of furniture eating up your ground space in the room making the room look bigger and spacious. Laminate countertops, on the other hand, would add strength and stability in your room.
