No Plans For Netflix Japan Or Netflix India

Netflix is a subscription-based service providing movies by mail and online streaming in the United States, Latin America, and a few other countries. It has also grown into one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world, thanks to the sheer level of convenience provided by the services it offers. Unfortunately, despite being such a large company, Netflix has not seen fit to expand to many countries around the world, preferring to concentrate its efforts in the United States, where it was founded. For people in Asian countries hoping for the establishment of Netflix Japan or Netflix India, for example, have no such access and will probably continue to be disappointed indefinitely.

This does not mean that people living in other countries around the world must give up on the hope of gaining access to the Netflix media streaming services. Many people have already given up, however, and have turned to substitutes that have attempted to mimic the Netflix model, providing a subscription-based service with access to movies and television shows. ... and invariably have much smaller selections of movies and shows, many of which are often obscure and unheard of. This is because large production houses prefer to work with large and established companies that they believe will be better able to protect the copyrights of their films.

Despite the restriction that Netflix has placed on its services, allowing only those connecting to the Netflix servers from within the United States access to the full range of its services, there are many people from outside the country who have also managed to gain such full access. These people have done so by circumventing the electronic security that Netflix has put in place to prevent access from outside the United States.

Such security measures are not new, and there are a number of other websites that also take such measures. Youtube, for example, allows content providers to prevent access from certain countries.

With the use of proxies, however, these security measures can be circumvented. And with the growing number of people in developing countries gaining access to the internet and being frustrated by not being able to access restricted content, more and more are turning to proxies to bypass the security.

Proxies operate on a very simple principle, by replacing your electronic signature with their own. It resembles a situation where you placed an order for information with a middleman, and the middleman, after procuring that information in his own name, then passed it on to you without the knowledge of the party from which it was first obtained. By not telling Netflix that you are not in the United States, you can avoid the restrictions that they place on foreign access.

Proxies are not without drawbacks, however, and two of the main drawbacks are the slowdown in speeds and the need to pay for better service and faster speeds. Of course, while it would be great if Netflix were to decide to establish Netflix India, Netflix Japan, and in other countries worldwide, for now proxies present one of the few options for those who really want access to Netflix.
