What Do People Think About Your Business?
How can you appeal to people if you don't even know what they think about you?
A lot of marketing consists of trying to get a person to view your company in a specific way. The purpose of your color printing might be to push the fact that you have the lowest prices in town, or it might emphasize that your customer service is top quality.
Every marketing campaign has a purpose behind it, and you have to have a strong theme if you want to improve your reputation in a certain area.
But knowing what your customers think about your store is the first step before doing any of this, because what they think will often dictate what it is that you need to push.
These are the people you're trying to appeal to, after all. Their opinion matters most, so why wouldn't you want to know what they think?
To really understand the significance of it you have to be fully aware of how these kinds of opinions will impact your business.
Getting more specific, say a business is trying to emphasize low prices, like I mentioned ...
... up above. But before designing their brochures or postcards and before getting any color printing they do some research into their customer base.
What they come away with is the realization that people cared less about the prices and more about the service they were getting. They thought your service was good and enjoyed it, and this is why they kept coming back.
How do you apply this to your marketing? If people don't care as much about prices than you will only waste your time trying to focus on them. Instead you need to go after what they're looking for, and draw in more customers by pointing out how successful and effective your service is.
This can apply to all sorts of other aspects of marketing once you learn more about what your customers want, and what they're pleased about with your business.
You could also focus more on an area that they aren't as happy in instead. If they think the service is great but they're a little concerned about the prices, try to market to them about what great deals you have, while still maintaining your effective service.
Every marketing push you embark on should have a strong focus on the customer's wants and needs. The less attention you pay to what they're after the easier it will be to miss the mark completely.
Don't ignore the very people who you need to make happy in order to keep your business going. You need to be going out of your way to find out what their opinions are and find the best way to improve your marketing with them.
