A skin condition in which there is formation of discolored patches on skin is known as melasma. There are certain factors which can cause melasma such as prolonged exposure to the sun, pregnancy, stress, anxiety, cosmetics, birth control pills and improper functioning of thyroid gland. 6. Mint leaves can also be very helpful in treating melasma. Just take some fresh mint leaves and crush them properly. Now extract juice from crushed mint leaves and apply it directly on the affected area of your skin. Regular use of this home remedy will give you good results.

7. Take some lavender oil and mix it with tea tree oil. You can apply this mixture on the affected region four to five times in a day. Within a week you will get to see the improvements.

8. Take a cotton ball and soak it in hydrogen peroxide. Now rub this cotton ball on the melasma affected area before going to bed. Make this a daily practice to gain good results.
