Today, there are multiple successful businesses running in the world. The secret for their success is not mainly their product. It was crated to be demanded. But what made the company actually successful was the management team, staff, labors, workers, shareholders, entrepreneurs and agents who put their efforts to make the project a success. All the workers in an organization are divided in to groups or departments, according to the skills they specialize in. Each department in the business has different responsibilities. Market research is done when the company wants to know about the latest fashion trend, or about what is on going in the current situation. Moreover, market research determines the strengths of any business, its weaknesses, possible opportunities and future threats. This helps the business to analyze where it lacks and what can be done to improve its position.
Another responsibility of this department is to bring new products for the business. This is often not done single handedly. The production and research and development departments are taken in to consultation and then a summary is derived about the type of product and its benefits to the company. Moreover, they are responsible to decide the marketing mix, which proves to be best for the business. Marketing mix includes the price of a product, its packaging, the place which will be best for its production and its promotion. This is a very critical task, as the success of the business depends on the approval of the product, and the approval of the product depends upon the strength of marketing team. Their responsibility is not just limited to this end. They need to have the sales report and assess and evaluate it properly. Through this, they should make future decisions, about how to improve products or bring change in the system. Since marketing department was very important, it was explained in detail. Other department responsibilities will be just outlined, but this may not at all mean that that department is less important.
Accounting department is responsible to maintain a timeline of all the financial transaction carried out in the business, manage cash flow, predict future financial problems, and determine the expenditure amount for upcoming products and responsibilities relating to business transactions. And obviously the production and sales department have their jobs relating to products. So you see how each department has to carry on its responsibilities in a completely distinctive manner.
