Marathoners are among the most physically fit in the entire fitness world. It takes a certain stamina, mental toughness and a training plan thats near crazy. Women account for 57 percent of participation in half marathons. This is something that has grown in numbers since the early 2000s. The increase in participation in running a marathon among women has been near amazing. There has been a major increase in women taking charge of their lives and their health and have done so by training for and running in full and half marathons.
