For instance, you can be made in charge of promoting your fraternity to new students or organizing a charity event or planning a formal dinner and eventually being promoted to being fraternity president. All these roles will teach you organizational skills including responsibility, time management and team leadership. Remember that successfully holding these positions will be very impressive on a resume later in life.

And you know what else looks good on a resume and is good for your conscience too? It is being an active part of charities and philanthropic work. As a member of a Greek fraternity or sorority, you will be a part of fundraising events for a cause that is important to your organization. You will also get to participate in a hands-on event with the charity. Engaging in the act of giving back to the community, you will be fulfilled with a sense of accomplishment and giving. This is a major reason why people choose to join fraternities and sororities.
