Deepak was born at New Delhi, India 1947. He attended All India Institute of the Medical sciences studying the western medicine. At 1968 he came to US and started working in the New Jersey hospital. At 1976, she came to Baltimore for joining WJZ-TV News as the co-anchor. There, Oprah Winfrey co-hosted first talk show, called People Are Talking, whereas continuing to serve as the anchor & news reporter. Then she had found the niche, which perfectly suited her personality, and word spread to some other cities. At 1984, she was then invited to Chicago for hosting the faltering half hour program at WLS-TV. Within a year, she then turned AM Chicago in hottest show of town. Format was then expanded to hour, and at 1985 this was renamed Oprah Winfrey Show. Year later, Oprah Winfrey Show was nationally broadcasted, and fast became number one show in the national syndication.

Born to the unwed teenage mom, Oprah Winfreyspent her initial years on grandmother's farm at Kosciusko, Mississippi, whereas her mother searched for work in North. Life on farm was primitive, however her grandmother taught Oprah to read in early age, and just at age of 3 she was reciting poems & Bible verses in the local churches. In spite of hardships of her environment, she enjoyed loving support of grandmother & church community that cherished her as the gifted child.
