Tdsb Summer School
It’s that time of year again! Registration for summer school in Toronto is in full effect. Summer school classes for all programs begin on Tuesday, July 3, and wrap up on Friday, July 27 this year. For a comprehensive list of course offerings and locations of summer schools, visit http://bit.ly/LDWKWO.
If you are looking to upgrade or acquire a new credit this summer, you’ll need to act soon. Registration for TDSB day school students opened on April 23rd and runs until Friday June 1st at 2pm. Students can register through their home school guidance department. If you miss the deadline, you’ll have to follow up with your day school guidance counsellor for late registration. Remedial, Transfer Courses and Non-Credit Literacy and Numeracy Courses are also being offered this summer. Students wishing to enrol must do so by Thursday June 28th at 2pm.
Some things to keep in mind if you’re considering summer school:
• Full Credit Classes run from 8:45- 3:30 (lunch is 45 minutes)
• Remedial, Transfer and Non-Credit Literacy/Numeracy classes run from 8:45 – 11:45 am (morning classes) and 12:30-3:30 ...
... (afternoon classes)
• Culminating Activities and Final Exams are: Wednesday July 25th (No alternative date will be arranged; it’s best to look ahead and map out your summer so that your work, social and vacation plans don’t conflict with your summer school commitment)
• The number and type of courses that open will depend on sufficient course registration and the employment of qualified staff. Students should check the website to ensure their course is running.
• Attendance at all classes is mandatory. Students who miss the equivalent of three classes will be withdrawn from the program, as they will not be able to complete the required number of instructional hours.
Summer school requires intense focus and commitment. The courses are condensed and there is a lot of content to cover and assignments to complete within the month. If you require additional academic support or help with time management and organization, contact Ruth Rumack’s Learning Space (416) 925-1225 or visit www.ruthrumack.com.
At art summer camp kids will challenge themselves and their friends through the many activities offered during the week. Your child will experience the best with Ruth Rumack's learning space.
