Being in their pledge may make an affirmation ("I affirm this is the truth").As part of his duty to verify the identity of the respondent, he sees to it that verification processes move along a legal process, that is considering the use of documents such as government ID's, driver's license or birth certificates before giving out his signature and seal to any document. It is also the role of the notary public to authenticate duplicate documents as a true copy of the original one.
