Social Activities Of Olufunso Amosun In Nigeria

Mrs. Olufunso Amosun is not a new name for the people of Southwest Nigeria. She is Wife of the Ogun State Governor and known as Ogun Firstlady in Nigeria. Ibikunle Amosun is present governor of Ogun state. She was born on 2nd May, 1966. She has finished her primary education in UK. After that she came back and started her education. She was the student of State College of Arts and Science. She has done BA.ED there and did masters in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. Olufunso Amosun is generally involves in society improvement. Her major activities are Uplifting Widows, Uplifting Women, Uplifting Unemployed Graduates, Uplifting the aged people, Organize EYE camp and many other also. Mrs. Olufunso Amosun Nigeria simply focuses on the less privileged, the youth, the elderly, widows and the unemployed who constitute a critical mass of the state’s population, rewrite their stories for the better. She has just inaugurated Spouses of Ogun State Government Functionaries Association (SOSGFA) foundation in February 2012. Basic purpose of this ...

Uplifting Widows:

On the day of Olufunso Amosun’s Birthday, she has organized this event where more than 200 widows from Ogun state took part. They were from various ages. Mrs. Olufunso Amosun were gave business kit to start small business. Those various starter kits are saloon kits, Table top Gas Cookers, Sewing Machines, Cartons of Pasta, Boxes of Noodles, Cartons of Juice, Water or Soft drinks with Coolers, Bags of Rice and so on. This helps lot to those widows. The Medical Women's Association of Nigeria were also on ground to give all the widows general health checks.

Uplifting Women:

She uplifts women by giving items to start their initial business: freezers, generating sets, sewing machines, grinding machines, hair dryers and many others. She empowers a hope of generating income and improving livelihoods. She gives them peace and security in Ogun state.

Uplifting Unemployed Graduates:

She encourage youngsters to take participate in vocational courses rather than higher studies in big organization. These vocational courses make them self employed. She has started following vocational courses for unemployed persons: Small Chops/Pastry, Manicure/Pedicure/Acrylic nails, Make up, Necklace Beading, Hall Decoration, Fabric Beading, Millinery (Hat-making), Shoe-making, Barbing etc. These courses improve their vocational skills and they also get knowledge how to start business.

Uplifting the aged people:

Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun has suggested the younger people to pay consideration to the welfare of the old age people. She believes that old age is the unique gift from GOD and aged people really deserves to take care. By her efforts old age people get noticed who are down hearted and lost everything in their life. She has organized free health checkup foraged people. She also delivers daily need items like blankets, rice, gari, groundnut oil and token cash gifts.

Organize EYE camp:

During flag off ceremony she has organized eye checkup camp with free screening exercise and distribution of drugs, eye drops, glasses to the less privileged people from the state's 20 local government areas.

Major Mission of Olufunso Amosun is to rebuild Ogun state Group.Olufunso Amosun is a Wife of the Ogun State Governor. Her main mission is to provide good quality life, education and health care. Ogun Firstlady in Nigeria is well known for her contribution in society.
