Television has walked past many stages in its life. TV is the only form of entertainment that is loved by all groups of people in all its different stages. The main reason it is loved by all is because of the varying channels it carries. TV deals are available online and in the markets for the customers to choose. There are different packages with different set of channels that can be purchased according to each one’s requirement. In order to have crystal clear pictures and better experience in watching television various types of TV’s are sold in the market. The most important thing that you have to notice while purchasing is the Contrast ratio and Dynamic contrast ratio.

Contrast ratio (CR) is the difference between the lightest color and the darkest color that the TV can produce. Higher contrast ratio’s yield vivacious white pictures and lower contrast ratio’s display deep black pictures. Contrast ratio’s are used in the entire flat screen TV’s. Contrast ratio is difficult to measure because of the difference in the measurements of the contrast ratio through different methods. There is no definite method ...
... to measure Contrast ratio. The most popular method that is used to measure CR is by placing the TV in a large room that does not reflect the light emitted by the Television. In other words the room should be obstacle free so that it absorbs the light rays. But this is not an effective method because the customer’s room conditions vary.

Dynamic contrast ratio is the overall contrast ratio that the television can produce. Dynamic contrast ratio works well while watching black and white pictures and long scenes that take place in dark areas or dark settings. Dynamic contrast shows black pictures more dark and white pictures more white. Contrast is the relationship between light and dark areas on the television screen. If the contrast in the television is very poor, pictures will not be visible when it is light or dark. This is because the extreme dark and light becomes shades of grey. ANSI contrast ratio is good in its own way. This is measured by checking each eight white boxes and black boxes. This pattern provides a far more relevant picture as to what is happening with the black and white pictures. However the brightness of the white boxes always affects the measurement of the black boxes. ANSI contrast ratio consumes a lot of time which is practically not possible.

Notice the contrast ratio but never make a decision by solely judging the contrast and dynamic contrast ratio. This varies according to the different companies and different methods used to measure them. After purchasing a TV do not blame the cable or satellite TV providers for the poor lighting in the channels. The providers have nothing to do in this regards. Try rearranging your room and remove any obstacle that falls in the way of light rays. Before purchasing a TV, apart from checking contrast ratio and dynamic contrast ratio decide on what TV you want to purchase. There are variety of them involved like LCD, LED, HDTV, Plasma TV and 3D TV. Decide on the size of the TV and the budget that you plan to purchase. Never get mesmerized by the additional features that you do not require and end up paying more money. Check online for various deals and offers. Compare prices and features of the television between different websites and purchase the one that benefits you. No matter what you purchase, fix the TV correctly in order to enjoy the full potential of the television.
