While going to college discovering a home in a dorm room, is not always a pleasant idea. But fortunately or unfortunately most of us get used to the idea. However one can create an ideal place to live by arranging the furniture correctly which can actually create extra space and make your dorm room close to home-like. You think you don't have enough space for a comfortable dorm room, with a lounge area, a study zone, a sleeping and a cooking place. Well, think again, because with some planning and management, you can get all this and more.

Here are some steps to give you a comfortable space in your dormitory-

Loft the beds, and get a lounge free!

Lofting the bed can get you extra space. The beds serve as your sleeping area, but with lofting, the space underneath, can be used for storing unwanted things! Add a sofa and a television set to your newly created lounge. See, now you have enough room, to invite your friends for a cup of coffee or a bowl of noodles.

Revamp your closet space

Chucking out unwanted clothes from the closets that are built right into the room can help ...
... us in making extra space. They can serve as a mini kitchen area where you can place a mini refrigerator and a microwave in one of the open closets.

Add the extra shelving

Increase the shelf space and drawers, by adding extra shelving in your dorm. Use postforming laminates on the shelves, drawers and tables, as they are flexible at curves and would perfectly fit your bill and will help you in cleaning and maintenance.

Renovate your Desk Area

Use laminate countertops on the counter tops and make the experience more comfortable and the place more spacious. You don't have to always stick with the decor of a library, alternate and use it as your dining area or a kitchenette.

Invest in Time
Familiar with the adage, 'Rome wasn't built in a day', so your dorm too, is not an exception. Spend some quality time in arranging and rearranging. Think out of the box and install counter tops, laminate countertops and postforming laminates, in your dorm to lift up its glam quotient and keep the place appear clean and glossy. You and your roomies can share the budget, or even better, convince the dorm management for it. They surely won’t say no for transforming a dorm into a stylish and clean home-like place. It only gives them a better business advantage. And by now you will turn into décor specialist of the dorm. Share and spread the good things around.
