No matter how strong a person is, it always hurts when you have just broken up with your ex. However, breaking up is not the end of the world. First, it may give both of you a chance to understand yourself better. Second, there is always a chance of reconciliation and it is possible that both of you may love each other more compared to before the break up.

If you are thinking of getting back with your ex, it is very important to know that certain ways will just not work, no matter how hard you try. It will usually make things worse.

Below, I talk about one thing that you should definitely not do. If you have done it already, it is best to put it to a halt immediately. (It doesn't matter whether you are a man or woman. What you are going to learn below applies to members of both gender.)

1) The number one thing that you should not do: Being Over Persistent!

What do I mean by being over persistent?

It means the following things:

You call her. She didn't answer you.

You called her again and again and of course she still did not answer you.

You also sent her many text messages. ...
... Of course, she did not reply your text messages.

So, why doesn't being over persistent work? Well, by doing so, you are actually creating lots of unnecessary pressure for her. It will only made her want to avoid you more. Furthermore, you will give the impression that you are a needy guy and you need her more than she needs you.

This instantly makes you extremely unattractive. So, avoid doing it at all cost.

2) Harassing her friends and family members

Perhaps you can't reach your girlfriend directly as she refuses to answer your call or reply your text messages. You may be tempted to look for her friends and family members in order to reach her.

This is certainly what you do not want to do. First, she may not want to let her friends or family members know about your break up yet. Second, if she does not want to meet you for the time being, you should respect her wish as doing the contrary will only drive her further away from you.

Instead, you may want to suggest that both of you should not meet for the time being. This is to allow time for both of you to cool down and to think about the issues more clearly before coming to a final decision.
