Various Halloween Gift Basket Ideas

A Halloween gift basket can be a great way to remember a teacher, a coworker, or thank a party host and hostess. However, what makes a Halloween basket? What do you put in it? What you decide to include is entirely up to you, but here are some ideas to consider.
The traditional
Many people think of Halloween and think of candy. So of course, the traditional Halloween gift basket will include plenty of that. Consider including the person's favorite Halloween treats in the fun miniature sizes that are found during the Halloween season. You can also find your traditional favorites decorated in Halloween style with different wrappers. Or, you can choose to go with Halloween traditional like candy corn, candied apples, pumpkin seeds, or popcorn balls. It is especially thoughtful if you find out what their Halloween favorites are.
The sugar free
For some kids and parents, Halloween may not be the favorite holiday. Some parents are shying away from the sugary snacks for those that are healthier and less likely to warrant a visit to the dentist. And for diabetic children, the holiday may be pure torture ...
... when they cannot indulge in the sweet goodies with their friends.
If this is the case, consider doing a sugar free basket. You can often find sugar free candies at your local retailer. Or, look for other yummy alternatives like cookies, raisins, juice boxes, and other snacks for families that prefer to stay away from the sugary snacks on Halloween.
The inedible
Of course, if you want to stay away from food entirely, there are still plenty of ideas for Halloween gift baskets. How about wrapping up a fun costume? This can work for kids or adults, especially if you know they like to dress up. Or, for an adult, you could include some cute Halloween decorations for their home. And of course, stuffed animals, toys, stickers, pencils, erasers, and other Halloween-themed goodies can be a fun alternative to candy. Your local party supply store will have plenty of ideas to include, and many retailers offer Halloween-themed merchandise and party favors that you can use.
The adult
If you are looking to thank a teacher or a host/hostess with a gift basket, you might want to go with a more adult theme. Instead of going for sweets and candies, think of some fall wines and cheeses, a fancy cake, homemade cookies or other treats.
Adding finishing touches
No matter what you decide to put in your basket, it can be easy to make sure that it is a Halloween gift basket. Consider lining it with orange and black tissue paper, or wrapping the basket with some Halloween-themed ribbon. Attach some cob-webbing and fake spiders. Attach a skeleton hand to the basket handle. Place one of those mini pumpkins in the middle of the basket. Or, instead of using a basket, get a large trick-or-treating bucket or Halloween gift bag and fill it. The ideas are limitless - all you need to do is use your imagination.
