Home School High School - Doing Is More Necessary Than Preparing

Accomplishing home schooling is more crucial than planning home schooling.

I am a bit of a planner by nature. I like to prepare. Applying.... not a great deal. Yet it is the actual executing of home schooling that is the important component. You can prepare all day long, but if you don't really do the work, it wouldn't matter. It reminds me of the Parable of the Two Sons.

Matthew 21: 28-32

"What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard. '

" 'I will not, ' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

"Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir, ' but he did not go.

"Which of the two did what his father wanted? "

"The first, " they answered.

There are quite a few home schoolers who feel called by God to home school, and are pulled kicking and screaming to this way of life screaming just like the first son, "Noooooooo!!! " If they do the work of home schooling, they will be effective.

Other parents are called to home schooling and answer by stating, "Sure! Not a problem! " They may prepare and prepare, get curriculum, plus purchase additional experiences. But if they get overly sidetracked by their hectic lifestyles, and don't actually undertake the job of home schooling, then they aren't actually performing what the Father wanted them to do. Whenever you prepare and prepare, but then do not actually do the work, then you have missed the mark.

Doing is much more crucial than preparing. It isn't easier and it isn't more enjoyable - at least not for me! However it is definitely the most crucial thing.

Do not forget, should you come to feel weighed down with the "doing" part, you might be attempting too much. If perhaps you get in this position, here are a couple of things you can do.

Scale back a bit. Lower your sights.
Try to find duplication and remove it
