Ursus arctos horribilis will be the scientific name for grizzly Bears and is often called silvertip in North America and is one of the famous subspecies of the brown bear.

Grizzly Bears can be in the North America for ages and they lived longer than the famous saber tooth tiger and the mastodon as well. Grizzly Bears is one of the favorite subjects and prey for hunters and unfortunately some of the subspecies are going extinct because of poaching and hunting. Today, this grizzly Bear lived in some part in Alaska and in Canada and many of them are scattered in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

The famous term of grizzly refers to the white tipped frosted hairs of the bear that may be seen in Rocky mountains. Fur of grizzly bears differ from each other and ranges from gray to yellow brown, dark brown and black. The colors of the fur depends naturally about the habitat they live and even the climate.

These bears mate during May and July and male bears usually find their mate by utilizing their sense of smell.
