It's time for you to finish up the school year, and it can be tough to truly feel "finished. " For parents that are not 100 % finished with a textbook or a unit of study, then you may wish to think outside the box for you to finish up your lessons quickly - and still have time to enjoy summer.



In case you need to finish up quickly then give some thought to the "Popcorn Party Plan. " Instead of working through a textbook, or completing each assignment, choose the "fast and simple" option instead. Not every class in high school has to be difficult. I recall that I had some high school classes that were significantly less difficult than others! So for a break, as well as a way to quickly conclude a unit study or course, give some thought to educational videos as a way to catch up.

As an example, I have a child that enjoys economics. He studied economics all the time, plus we discussed it frequently as a family. But all of a sudden my oldest son was a junior in high school, and I realized that he was the one that didn't enjoy economics - and I had neglected to teach it! I needed a way to easily teach ...
... that course in a painless approach, because my oldest was already bogged down with heavy academics in math and science, and he really wouldn't have the energy needed for a big beefy economics course. Merely living in our home meant that he had been exposed to more than his fair share of economics. I wanted to discover a way to make certain it was enough, there were no gaps, and I could call it a 1/2 credit class. That is when I stumbled on the "Popcorn Party Plan. " I selected a demanding selection of educational videos, and we watched a movie about it.

You could also simply scour the video section of your library, to check out what supplemental videos they might have for helping you finish up the details. She didn't wish to neglect the post-civil war era, but she didn't have time to work it too thoroughly. We determined that she could compromise and go over the middle period of American History lightly, by utilizing the Popcorn Party Plan. Watching videos on the lacking topics in American History, and enjoying it together with a bowl of popcorn. It was better than a gap, and more realistic than a summer tests-and-worksheets class. It was a terrific way to finish off the year!
