Sciatica is a painful condition caused due to the compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve. Treatment options are generally suggested to the patient only after careful evaluation of the condition and underlying symptoms. In case sciatica is caused due to some chronic problem, the underlying cause will be determined before starting the treatment program. If you are in too much of pain due to the displacement of the bone, then steps will be taken to realign the bones. Else, you will be treated with medication and ice packs in order to reduce inflammation. Rest, ice, compression and elevation are the most aspects of sciatic nerve pain treatment. Consistently performing these exercises, along with the intake of right medication, will help in eliminating the problem and bring you some much needed relief.
