Selecting Flooring For Your Norwell Home
When you live in Norwell tile flooring can really add just the right touch to your home. Then again, in Norwell carpeting can really make a living room or a bedroom look that much cozier. In Norwell hardwoods, tiles and carpets all offer their own charm to the room they floor, but you need to know which style you need for which room. Here are a few points on picking out your flooring option.
Tiles
Tiles are easy to clean and run the range in price from the very cheap such as with ceramic to very expensive marble and slate tiles. Selecting to use tile is as tricky as selecting the tile to use. The great thing about tiles is that they're easy to repair. Where a carpet needs to be ripped up entirely and a hardwood floor can't be replaced without an expert, a tile can be broken up, removed and replaced with a little elbow grease. Consider tiles for the bathroom, the kitchen and outdoor areas.
Carpeting
Carpeting offers a certain degree of warmth and comfort you won't get elsewhere. Just like with tiles, there are cheap and there are pricey carpets. Sisal is one that is a little pricier than some, ...
... but it can be very easy to clean and can be very useful in rooms that see a lot of foot traffic. A somewhat tougher carpet, sisal offers more durability than most. This lets you know that carpet is versatile. While it offers comfort, it doesn't need to be restricted to rooms where you see low foot traffic or bare-feet-only. There are carpets that can more than handle a little scuffing and roughing up here and there.
Hardwoods
The downside to hardwood flooring is that a single rubber shoe scraped along the floor can create a mark that won't come out without professional grade cleaning. A piece of furniture pushed along the floor without care can create marks that might never come out. However, there's a degree of class and sophistication offered by the more luxurious hardwoods that cannot be equaled, and a kind of rustic charm offered by the cheaper hardwoods, making them perfect for dining rooms, living rooms and kitchens.
What it really comes down to at the end of the day is personal preference. It's not a good idea to put carpeting in your bathroom, but it's your home. While you should take into account the facts, the best possible use of each flooring option, it's really up to you, it depends on your style, your sense of comfort and what kind of flooring you like.
