If you are considering sending your teen off to school so that he or she can get a better education than is possible locally, you might consider the option of a Christian boarding school. With the poor quality in some of today's public schools in America's largest cities, many parents are choosing to send their children off to boarding schools. In addition, non-Christian families are choosing faith-based education because of the values and morals that are instilled in their youth.

The following are a few reasons why you might consider choosing a Christian school to send your child, regardless of your faith - or lack thereof.

Faith-based Education - What getting a faith-based education means is that the issues you learn are related to how they fit with the Bible. Depending on the Christian affiliation, the school may use the New King James Version or the New International Version, both of which are highly regarded as accurate and authoritative. Many non-Christians will attest to the practical lessons that are in Bible stories and parables.

... Christian school over a traditional one is the open and accepting atmosphere. People of faith are inherently tolerant, relying on trust, acceptance of one another's faults, and forgiveness. You would be hard pressed to get into trouble in such an environment. Not many children would dare stand out to be the only one to rock the boat when surrounded with such positivity.

Loving Teachers, Support and Peers - Along with the spiritual atmosphere comes people who love, generous and respectful. If your child is having a hard time in school because of the bad influences surrounding him or her, this is the perfect place for him or her to get away.

As you can see, there are many positive reasons to choose a Christian high school over a traditional one. Even if you don't consider yourself to be a follower of the Christian religion, your child will thrive in an environment where it is expected to have respect and show kindness for others. As opposed to military school, which uses harsh punishment to correct, a faith-based school uses love and encouragement to show how better choices are made and how those choices can change lives.

There is also covenant Christian academy meant for troubled kids. These schools deal with children who come from troubled homes or have gotten into trouble using alcohol and/or drugs. They are also special boarding schools for children with eating disorders, violence/bullying, teen pregnancy or oppositional defiant disorders. They them help these children to overcome problems like ADHD, depression, stress, learning disabilities, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obesity, and more. Special needs boarding schools offer secure environments that foster positive attitude and therapies that include counseling for the entire family. With smaller student-teacher ratios of 10:1, they ensure compliance with accreditations from organizations like the Association of Christian Schools International, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) or the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation.
