Cold Air Intake - Take Advantage Of The Cool Air

A cool air is not only much more pleasant than hot air, it is also great for your car's engine. Now as a human being one can understand that cool air is pleasant but why should it be good for the car's engine? In fact we often here that the engine needs to warm up to get to most efficient performance level. And yet it is true that cool air is better for the car's engine. The engine needs to warm up so far as the various components that are oiled and greased to start moving more fluently. But inside the combustion chamber there is enough heat generated, what is really needed here is cold air. Cold air is denser so for the given volume of the combustion cylinder more air is able to get inside by weight. That means there is more oxygen available to burn the fuel up. Since the fuel has only a small amount of time to get ignited combine with oxygen and burn, the extra oxygen is very helpful.
You get more power, as much as one percent more which is a lot considering how efficient modern cars already are. And you will get better fuel efficiency as well. Another benefit you get is that the cars sound will now have a deep roar ...
... as the intake hungrily sucks in the cold air. It will sound more like high performance cars do.
If you feel a cold air intake is a great idea and you have some more money to spare then you can consider opting for other similar products. You can for example go in for a cat back exhaust which helps reduce the back pressure on the engine and so improves its performance. Again you will get slightly more power and a slightly better fuel efficiency. Although for each of these modifications the gain is small, they do add up and you can thus get a significantly better performing car in terms of fuel efficiency and power. For example you can also opt for performance headers to further boost your car's performance. You can see the latest car aftermarket products at www.ilovebodykits.com.
