If you have a dull concrete wall and you want to rework it into something fine-looking, you can use textured wall coating. These type of paints are specifically made for cemented walls. Usually they are labeled “concrete paint” or “mortar paint.” These are usually water based also and do not have the associated toxic fumes as those found in oil based acrylic paints that are designed for metal and wood surfaces.

These textured wall coating are a great way to not just protect the wall and those living in the home, but they are also the excellent way to add the fab into an otherwise uninteresting wall. You can also find concrete walls in the market which makes your wall appear like textured wall paper was applied on it.

Since these type of paints are water based, they are safe and convenient to use. In fact, all that is required to clean out the roller brush is to wash it in running water, not the turpentine or paint thinners for the acrylic paint which are very malodorous and could be a health hazard. For some, they only add water into the paint and they can begin applying the paint with ease.

These paints are formulated with special additives that guarantee its effectiveness. These kind of paints also protects the walls from algae and fungal growth. In fact people who maintain basements usually choose these kind of paints as it prevents the development of black fungus which could bring about serious health conditions to those that inhale these toxic microorganisms.

For people who have cracked walls, there is no need to despair. All they need to do is cover the crack with textured wall coating which is thick enough to cover the flaw. For the larger cracks, all it needs is a little bit of fixing and two coats of paint. This will not only invigorate a rather drab wall but will make it healthier and a livelier home for everybody to enjoy. There are so many colors and textures for you to select from so it will be hard for you to miss getting the right one.
