Urinary tract infection is the infection caused by bacteria to any part of the Urinary tract. The bacteria which live on the skin near the rectum are the most common type of bacteria which leads to Urinary tract infection. Symptoms of Urinary tract infection can be a sudden and strong urge to urinate, followed by painful and slow release of very little urine. Most people will feel an uncomfortable bloating. There are many good home remedies for Urinary tract infection which you can try at home.

One of the simplest home remedies for UTI is to drink plenty of water. This will make you urinate more often and the bacteria which are causing the infection will be flushed out of the body. It is recommended to drink six to eight large glasses of water daily.

Having cranberries or blueberries everyday is one of the effective home remedies for UTI. Since both of them contain fructose. You can even try drinking cranberry juice or consume yogurt with honey and some blueberries into it.

Baking soda is also helpful in treating UTI. All you have to do is dissolve half teaspoon of baking soda in water and drink. This will help in balancing acid / alkaline content of the urine. Grape juice is also beneficial for treating urinary tract infection. It is helpful in reducing the burning sensation while urinating. Aromatherapy basically consists of massaging the bladder area by the mixture of equal quantities of sandalwood oil, tea tree oil, frankincense oil and bergamot oil.

You can even try using the seeds of carrot which is useful in treating Urinary tract infection. Another remedy is to boil some coriander seeds in water and let it cool. Now strain it and try having an ounce of it twice daily. This will increase the flow of urine. Avoid eating food products such as spicy foods, dairy products and chocolates. Decrease the intake of caffeine, alcohol and carbonated drinks. You should also take care of a proper hygiene such as to take shower instead of baths, avoid bath oils, urinate before and after sex, wipe from front to back after using bathroom and wear clean cotton undergarments.
