Let's get right to it. Lentils are a fabulous food for weight loss. It's overflowing with soluble fiber which helps curb a ravenous appetite and lowers your blood cholesterol.

How do you eat lentils? Stupid question you might say but let me know tell you, do not eat lentils raw. Phytic acid and tannins are anti-nutrients which are in the lentil seeds; your really don't want to ingest that. The preparation of lentil seeds is easy and quick. Some types of lentil seeds do need you to overnight soaked before cooking. However, most don't require the pre-soaking, just boil over a stove top or put in the microwave. Ten to thirty minutes is really all it takes for cooking time; however it depends on the variety of the lentil seeds. And what's great is that when you cook lentils with other foods, it quickly absorbs the flavors from the other food making it that much tastier.
