Many people are suffering from dry scalps these days. Sebaceous glands are the glands which lie just below the scalp skin. When these glands stop producing enough oil due to certain reasons the scalp becomes dry. There are many external and internal reasons for dry scalp such as excessive use of chemicals, medical condition, shampoo buildup, dry weather and pollution. There are several home remedies which you can try in order to deal with this problem.

Massaging is one of the most beneficial home remedies for dry scalp. It helps to stimulate sebaceous glands and promotes blood circulation. In order to make your own hair oil, you should combine three drops of lavender oil, one oz of almond oil, three drops of vitamin E oil and vitamin B oil. Now apply two to four drops of this oil on your scalp and massage gently. Vitamin B will promote melanin production and almond oil will moisturize the scalp. Lavender oil, vitamin B and vitamin E will increase blood circulation.

Yogurt is one of the best home remedies for dry scalp. Rub yogurt on your dry scalp and then leave it there for 10 minutes and later rinse it properly ...
... with clear water. It will do wonders for your hair. The mixture of tea tree oil (20 drops) and eucalyptus oil (5 drops) used with regular shampoo is also beneficial for the scalp and will eliminate the itchiness. Aloe vera juice is also good for treating this problems. All you have to do is apply one tablespoon of aloe vera juice (sugar free) on your scalp which will moisturize the dry scalp without your hair looking dirty or oily.

You can even use olive oil to massage your scalp. Heat the olive oil and massage your scalp with it until it is fully saturated with oil. Now comb your hair with wide toothed comb in order to let the oil spread all over the scalp. Massaging with oils helps in production of sebum which is important which helps the hair to grow.

Milk and honey is one of the popular home remedies for dry scalp. Take half cup of milk and combine one fourth cup of honey in it. Now mix three tablespoon of extra virgin oil and then massage the scalp with this mixture and leave it for almost two hours. Wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Those suffering from this problem should eat food rich in iron (meat products), omega-3 fatty acids (fish), and vitamin A (carrots, eggs, liver and dairy products) and B-Complex vitamins (beans, whole grains and green leafy vegetables).
