Carpets are considered to be most prized possessions in any house. A little spill on the carpet can cause extreme disgust and disappointment. There may be many reasons for carpet stains such as children spilling food or something on it or maybe due to the pets. It is recommended to deal with the stain as soon as possible. There are several home remedies for carpet stains which have worked for other people and will sure work for you too.

In the case of spills try using paper towels to soak up the moisture. If there’s any solid, scrape it off. Now pour some club soda on it. The carbonated soda will bubble up the spill; quickly clean the spot with a paper napkin or a towel gently. Try this procedure again and again until you are satisfied with the results. This is one of the best home remedies for carpet stains related with spills.

To remove ink spots spray some hair spray on to it or try rubbing it with alcohol. In case of bubble gums and chewing gums sticking on your carpet, you can try freezing the gum with a bag of ice. Once the gum becomes solid you can chip it off.

In case of greasy food stains try using dish washing detergent. Just add few drops in a cup of cold water and mix it. Now apply it on the area and blot it. Try this procedure again and again until it's clean. If your carpet is giving a musty smell, then you can try drying the carpet by opening up the doors and windows and let the air out of the room. You can even try using a fan.

Baking soda is helpful in removing pet stains from your carpet. Just sprinkle some baking soda on the stain and wait for several minutes. Now use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the salt. In case if you have dents on your carpet caused by furniture legs then you can try putting some ice cubes on the area and let them melt. Next day you can fluff up the fibers.
