The choice of a gas chlorinator should be based on the flow rate of water that is to be treated in Gallons per Minute (GPM) and the chlorine demand of the water in Parts per Million (PPM). The chlorinator feed rate is articulated in Pounds Per Day (PPD). The demand of the chlorine is proportionate to water that one is treating to use the chlorine that is mixed into water. The demand of the chlorine in water is resulted by several diverse things. A few of them are manganese, bacteria, hydrogen sulfide, algae, water temperature, iron and agitation or aeration of water.

Chlorine gas is supplied through steel cylinder as a compacted gas in a liquid state. The cylinder pressure is dependent on the temperature of the cylinder. The range of cylinder pressure is from 28 PSI at 20° F to 191 PSI at 120° F. As far as safety characteristic is concerned the cylinder are fitted with fusible plugs that will melt approximately at 165A° F. This is done to stop the cylinder from setting off if it catches fire. For small water systems, chlorine gas is usually supplied in "150 pound cylinders," while bigger systems will utilize ...
... "ton (2000 pound) containers.” The weight signifies the weight of chlorine that is being supplied, not the weight of the full cylinder. Full 150 pound cylinders will weigh from 235 ponds to 290 pounds. Full ton containers will weigh from 3,300 pounds to 3,650 pounds.

For the price of the chlorine a deposit will be charged for every cylinder. A typical deposit for a 150# cylinder is $200, while a typical ton container deposit is $1,500. The deposit on the 150# cylinder permits the usage for 180 days that is six months, and the ton container deposit permits usage for 30 - 90 days depending on the supplier. If the cylinder is not returned in the designated time then a penalty will be reviewed for each day over the permitted time.

Water treatment is a process that makes the water more acceptable for residential and commercial purposes. These consist of use as drinking water, industrial processes, medical, and several other uses. The aim of the treatment of water is to eradicate the present pollutants in water or eradicate the concentration of such pollutants so the water becomes fit for its wanted end use. The means of expression of an appliance that supplies gas to the individual burners is known as gas manifold.
