Hudson Jeans – Denim To Get You Through The Winter
The Indian summer that most of the UK experienced at the beginning of October hit jeans sales hard. Retailers have become reliant on the need of millions to wrap up warm, put on their winter jackets, soft scarves and go out on mass to top up with a new pair of jeans to get them through the winter season. Walking through central London last week bare skin out-weighed denim by at least 10-1. Waves of summer revelers enjoyed what was surely our last dash of summer, shops packed with autumnal wear were decidedly empty , whilst retailers scratched their heads and wished they were outside too, after all who buys a scarf when its 29 degrees?
All good things come to an end and the Indian summer is fading fast into memory, retailers have breathed a sigh of relief and the intrepid shoppers are back out shopping in the cold looking for the practicalities of winter. In this sense jeans are an indulgence; they’re hard working and the staple of many outfits but they can be fun, quirky, sophisticated and in the right hands even make and outfit.
Over the last 5 years we’ve seen some great brands compete in the premium ...
... denim sector, LA based brands like Hudson Jeans, J Brand, Siwy, Seven For All Mankind have all established themselves as leaders and innovators within a tough category. Whilst this category is dominated by LA based brands the occasional upstart such as London based MIH have shown their worth.
Hudson Jeans stand out as leaders of the pack. Their figure flattering designs and choice of fabrics make legs look longer and slimmer. The signature pocket makes rears look smaller and tummies no existent. Hudson Jeans UK are very soft and feel incredible next to your skin.
In terms of AW, Hudson Jeans have bolstered their core collection with pastille reds and blues which are cute and perhaps more on trend than similar products by MIH and JBrand. Looking forward to SS12 Hudson Jeans have some exciting colours and styles to look forward to. Deep navy will be supplemented by mustards, pastille greens, greys and perhaps even some lighter shades of pink. Hudson will also be launching their Freedom of Movement range featuring a new innovative woven look fabric that has the elasticity of lycra – very excited about this. I’m excited about bolstering my AW wardrobe this weekend with some denim that will get me through the winter – for me there is only one go to brand this winter.
