Universalising Knowledge With Distance Learning
A long time ago, a sage has said that,’ Knowledge is universal and the real source of knowledge is education’. Learning started in the ancient ages through cave paintings, sign languages and also debates in the Roman and Greek city street corners. Then came the time of schools or pathshala in the eastern concept. This led to the arrival of the school system and gradually the others. But over the years, the traditional system of learning system, gradually gave way to the non-conventional system of Distance learning. Distance learning was earlier known as the, correspondence courses and it gradually became popular among the working class and some professional people. Nowadays, distance learning is also available in the online mode and this has made this course fairly popular, particularly among the masses.
With the spread of the business activity across the world, due to the efforts of globalization and an atmosphere of universal openness towards reforms. This led to the spread and the popularity of the MBA courses in both India and abroad. Apart from the regular courses, there is a growing tendency ...
... towards the online courses. Many of the technically qualified professionals, who were unable to complete their education due to various economic stress factors. They could now easily go for the MBA courses, particularly those that are available through the online or distance mode. There is the much needed flexibility in completing this course. They can study in the flexible online mode with direct interaction with course coordinators and getting access to online study materials and others types of assistance.
The popularity of the distance learning courses has increased over the years. The MBA courses are also being offered in the online mode. There are several options of this type of education in various forms. One important thing about this form of education is the authenticity of the said institute. Then there are other certain things to be considered about the acceptance of the proposed course by the industrial or commercial bodies. This would increase the potential of the employment opportunities of the MBA Courses. Their potential in increasing the range of educated professionals in this specialized field. The working professionals are increasingly choosing the option of distance learning, over the conventional classroom ones.
The earlier form of these non- conventional courses was called as Correspondence Courses. They generally held their contact programs, once or twice a month. Some learning institutes introduced once a week contact programs as per the need of the courses. This gradually turned towards the Distance learning and with the advent of modern form of communication technology, and then distance learning courses turned on the online mode. Gradually many courses were introduced in the online mode, including the MBA courses. The professional degree and diploma courses were the most favored among the working professionals and the career minded people. The flexibility in the conduction of those courses and also on the form of imparting education increased their popularity quite substantially. They were even favoured over some conventional courses.
