Cleaning your gutters can be a difficult task. If you’ve got a leaf blower, however, it can be a lot less difficult—because, really, is there anything that power tools can’t do? (Besides babysit.) Here are three great products that work with your leaf blower, designed to get that crud out of your gutters for good.

1) Weed Eater Gutter Cleaning Blower Attachment

Cost: $40

Available From: Amazon.com

So how does this gizmo work? You assemble it into a shepherd's crook shape, connect it to the leaf blower, then blast out your gutters while standing on the ground. The idea is that instead of climbing up on a ladder, the blower hoses out the leaves, then you just rake them up (or not, depending on how dirty your gutters were). This kit does come with safety glasses, though be forewarned that you’re still likely to be showered with crud. They should probably include a beekeeper’s mask, or possibly a hazmat suit.

But, hey going up on a ladder versus taking a long shower...not a hard choice.

2) Airaleave

Cost: $10

Available from: Amazon.com

As ...
... you might have noticed, this one comes with a handy infographic in the image: hook this up to your blower, plug it into your downspout, and let it rip. It'll clean out your downspout, in the same way fiber cleans out your body’s downspout.

While it cleans out clogs, it won’t clean out the gutters themselves – and where does all this gunk from your downspout go after it's been rocketed into the sky? Much of it lands on the roof...and also in your gutters. We hope you have that Weed Eater attachment handy, because you'll be blowing it out again.

3) Echo Blower Cleaning Kit

Cost: $55

From: Home Depot

This works on the same principle as the Weed Eater product above, but with a few differences, namely the two attachments that focus air flow into different shapes. This is handy, if for no other reason than it allows you to concentrate the air and sandblast out the crud. Or any stray baseballs, Frisbees, etc., that your kids threw into the gutter last summer.

As tempting as it is, try not to abuse this tool’s power. It’s fun enough to wield a regular leaf blower, but these tightly controlled streams of air turn it into a laser leaf blower. At minimum, please make sure you’re wearing those safety goggles!
