Biking in the form of a sport is considered very energizing. Many young lads and girls take up biking as a sport. One can see kids racing across the street with their bicycles and performing stunts. The stunts that begin with a bicycle lead them to stunts on motorbikes. But biking is the most desired pedal-driven recreational vehicle by any kid or youth.

Bikes are the most energizing pedal driven vehicle which proves advantageous for cardio and strength exercise or for any kind of exercise for the body. It makes the thigh muscles so flexible that cycling at maximum speed becomes easier than it would have seemed in the initial stages of biking. Men and women both opt for biking these days as it’s more than just a sport for them. It’s the passion for biking that makes them pedal throughout the plain roads as well as rugged roads. Bike companies provide various kinds of bikes according to the customers need. BMX bikes are one of the kinds of bicycles that are used for both casual biking as well as sports. They are mainly designed for dirt jumping and motocross cycling which later became a well known sport. Now, BMX bikes are even used for racing along with those used for the dirt jumping, in the park, riding through streets and flatland disciples of BMX. The BMX cycle frames are made of various types of steel and even aluminum. The smaller gearing in BMX bikes provide advantages such as, they are light weight and they allow more clearance when grinding. Mostly on freestyle, street jumping and street BMX bikes, the wheels have 36 strokes and in the BMX bikes which are used by more aggressive bikers the wheels have 48 spokes only because they require extra strength to handle them. Initially these kinds of bikes with well designed mechanism were not available, may it be for racing or for pedaling on the dirt tracks. These bikes were designed after drawing inspiration from the children who began racing in their cycles on dirt tracks in the west.

Biking as a sport is very challenging as one should be able to perform various kinds of stunts to get applauded and recognized by the viewers. Many bikers who are mountain bike racers sometimes cross over to BMX racing may be only because it was more fun and challenging with no offence to mountain bike racing.
