Lexus currently prepares its vehicle line-up for 2012 launch its attempt of regaining the glory that the brand has previously been enjoying as the largest and most in-demand car maker in US for eleven straight years.

This plan was triggered by the company’s subsequent losses in sales for the past few months after the March 11 earthquake has struck Japan. This event has actually left Lexus struggling to meet the demands from luxury car finders in the US since most of the brand’s production plants experienced either production stoppage or component shortage.

In order to start 2012 with a momentous comeback, Lexus is currently readying its vehicle line-up. This line-up includes several models that Lexus hope to generate more demands from new car finders in the US. Although most of the models included in these are refreshed versions, Lexus is still optimistic that this would boost their sales in 2012.

One of the most significant models included on the Lexus’ line-up for 2012 is the all-new GS sedan. This would ...
... be launched in the earliest part of 2012. The all-new GS sedan would be introduced and distributed on the market with a revised platform. The GS sedan will actually be sharing this platform with the IS version, but the GS will also retain the overall dimension of the current model.

Aside from the new platform, buyers in the US who are interested in purchasing the GS sedan either through cash or by using some of the auto financing options to finance their vehicle purchase would be given different engine choices. This includes the 3.5L V6 and the 4.6L V8. However, European buyers will only get versions powered by a four-cylinder engine.

After launching the GS, Lexus would also be distributing the all-new ES sedan in the middle parts of 2012. This next –generation version would be using the Camry’s platform since the brand’s engineers are placing greater emphasis on the ES’ sportier handling.

A hybrid version of the ES would also be included on the options that car buyers would be choosing from when they intend to buy a Lexus ES. The hybrid version is believed to possess a combined rating of about 40 mpg which is considered as more fuel-efficient compared to the Lincoln MKZ hybrid.

Given these line-up and production stability, there is a great chance for Lexus to improve its overall sales in 2012. However, taking the lead on the US luxury car market that is currently confined in the hands of BMW might not be possible for a period of one year.
