When an average person experiences pain the most common solution is using oral painkiller medications that are highly effective and help eliminate pain in just a matter of minutes. Still, using painkiller medications too frequently may cause serious side effects to occur. That's why a lot of people suggest using herbal alternatives to conventional painkillers. To the large consumer who's used to taking painkiller meds when something hurts it may come as a surprise why would anyone want to compromise the effectiveness of conventional medications and use something that doesn't provide the same effects. However, most experts will indicate a set of benefits that herbal painkillers have if compared to traditional analgesics:

* The majority of conventional painkiller medications are known for their negative impact on liver function and the gastrointestinal tract if taken in excess or for a long period of time. Herbal painkillers are free from such side-effects.

* Painkiller medications of the latest generation are regarded to be safer than their predecessors but they too can provide abdominal discomfort, especially when ...
... taken in larger doses. Herbal alternatives are still safer and better tolerated in the majority of the patients.

* Certain potent painkiller medications are known to cause dependency and withdrawal effects if used for a long period of time. With herbal medications there's no risk of developing a physiological dependency regardless of the dose.

Of course, it would be wrong to say that herbal painkillers are as effective as conventional medications. It would be really hard to find a herbal solution that would compare to such potent analgesics as Ultram. However, it depends on the actual purpose you want to use the drug for. If there's a need for an analgesic to soothe serious pain after an injury then it's certainly better to use effective painkillers such as Tramadol. However, if the pain is minor and only provides a bit of discomfort then it's certainly better to use safer herbal painkillers to eliminate the problem.

One of the biggest issues regarding herbal painkillers is that most people don't actually know how to use them. The question of dosage with herbal painkillers is as important as with drugs like Tramadol. So even though most herbal analgesics can be purchased without any prescription needed it is still suggested that you consult with a physician or ask the pharmacist selling the drug about the right dosage. Even though herbal solutions are safer than conventional medications taking them in excess can also cause unpleasant symptoms that you will certainly want to avoid.

It would certainly help if you would consult with your doctor regarding your pain. Keep in mind that pain is one of the most common symptoms to a multitude of health conditions. And if you experience pain on a regular basis it is a clear sign that something is wrong in your body and needs to be addressed. So don't rely on painkillers, whether conventional or herbal, and speak to your doctor about locating and eliminating the actual cause of pain instead of trying to relieve it every now and then.
