Building Your Own Paintball Park

Is Paintball one of your favorite sports but does your pocket money stretch to only so many sessions? Do you have a fairly large backyard and time to spare? Why don’t you round up some buddies and build a paintball park? It’s quick, it’s easy and it won’t shoot a hole in your pocket.

Here is what you’ll need to build yourself a Paintball Park in your backyard:

1. Space
2. Obstacles
3. Paintball Guns and paraphernalia

Space:
You need a playing field. Long, short, round or squiggly. It doesn’t matter. As long as the owner gives you permission to play. You do need a space that is large enough for you to set up an obstacle course and for you and other team members to run around in. Having natural obstacles such as trees, shrubs and large boulders, or rocks is always a huge plus.

Make sure you do not infringe on public or private property without permission or you might find your game cut short abruptly.

... very expensive task. All you need is a bit of creativity, some free building materials and an imagination!

The first thing you need to do is score some free building material. “Now where can you get that? People aren’t giving it away on the street for sure”, you think. Yes they are. You just need to know where to look.

Ask people about any garage sales, or keep your eyes peeled for people moving in or vacating homes. You can get hoards of free stuff from people shifting houses. They are looking to get rid of old boxes, mattresses, trunks, barrels and other damaged goods that they don’t want and can’t sell. You can have a field day.

However, you may not be so lucky as to find someone on your street moving the day you want to build your paintball park. So instead, use the power of the internet. Scour Craig’s list and other similar listings. Or put up your own Wanted advertisement. You’ll be surprised by some of the responses.

Another great place to look in is your garage. Clean out the garage, and please the lady of your house, along with uncovering some great finds. You can use damaged trashcans and other large odds and ends for obstacles too.

If you live near the beach, get some sacks, borrow a pickup truck, and fill up as many sacks as you can with the sand.

Paintball Guns and paraphernalia

The paintball gun is probably something you cannot fashion yourself from old odds and ends. So the best thing to do is to purchase a second hand gun from a thrift shop. You can also buy one online. You will want to buy a mask along with the gun and other accessories, of course. The entire set can cost you a pretty penny but it will definitely be cheaper than renting one every time you wanted to play.

So there you go! You can have your own paintball park in the amount it would cost to rent one a couple of times! Have fun, but play safe.
