The game of golf is regarded to be one of the world’s most prestigious games. In fact, the outstanding performances of certain golfing individuals in the recent years have gifted the game honor and pride. There had been uncountable golfing legends in the past who helped to glorify the game. However, the extraordinary contributions of Tiger Woods later shook the world. Woods created something more than history that one could ever imagine of. His startling performances and unending triumphs created a stir in the golfing arena. Whether you recall his PGA tours or the US Opens, Woods has left an indelible mark at each and every platform throughout the world. Tiger Woods is considered today the idol of millions of golf lovers.

Woods’ Boyhood Days

Eldrick Tont Woods, popularly known as Tiger Woods was born on 30th December, 1975 in Cypress, California. He was nicknamed “Tiger” by his father. The Sparkling Career of Woods

A student of Stanford University, Tiger Woods kicked off his golfing career by winning a few US Golf titles. In the year 1996, he came to be known as a professional golfer. Woods clinched the U.S. Masters at Augusta in the following year when he was just 21. He was then the youngest man as well as the first African-American to grab this honor.

Later in the year 1997, Tiger Woods participated in the British Open where he matched the course record of 64. The following four years was ushered with successes that included 3 U.S Open, 3 Open Championship, 3 U.S Masters and 4 PGA titles. These breathtaking triumphs of woods made the majority of competitors wonder as to how this unbeatable golfer can be stopped.

As expected, Woods’ triumphs continued when he went to the extent of winning five titles one after another in 2003. Among them, one was the Western Open and the other was the Buick Invitational. In 2004, Woods won only the PGA Tour championship since he had to face several challenges on the field. The same year the golf master got married to Elin Nordegren, a Swedish model.

The Return of Woods

Well, Tiger Woods was back with a bang in 2005 when he bagged six championships and was accorded the PGA Tour Player of the Year and that too for the 7th time. This however followed with a tragic story since Woods lost his father in the following year. Well, it was indeed a big shock in Woods’ life. However, Woods returned to Golf and instead won the British Open and the PGA Championship. The following years were again marked by a few victories including BMW Championship and The Tour Championship.

Presently, Tiger Woods has gone down in rankings that has disappointed millions of golf lovers. Well, everyone is hoping to see Woods back in the PGA Tour.
